PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which has superior fixability, excels in charging performance, retains stable developing property/transferability from the initial stage to the end of printout on a large number of sheets, and can give stable images over a prolonged period of time, and to provide a developer. SOLUTION: A toner resin is provided which contains units, having a specific sulfonate group and a specific sulfonic acid group in a predetermined content/ratio.
