PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool, using a generalized insert without using a thick insert even in the case of a large depth of cut, and efficiently cutting without lowering cutting speed and feed speed more than needed. SOLUTION: In this cutting tool 1, a mounting eye 12 for removably mounting an insert 18 is formed at the outer periphery of the tip of a tool body rotated round the axis. In the mounting eye 12, a sheet member 15 having a wall surface made of cemented carbide, formed extending toward the tip of the tool body and pointing at the radial outside of the tool and a wall surface 16 pointing at the front side in the rotating direction T of the tool is disposed, and the insert 18 is seated on the wall surface 16 pointing at the front in the rotating direction T of the tool of the sheet member 15, and the side surface pointing at the radial inside of the tool body of the insert 19 is abutted on the wall surface pointing at the radial outside of the tool body of the sheet member 15.
