PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle plate adjusting mechanism of a sewing machine capable of easily adjusting the position when mounting a needle plate to the sewing machine and surely fixing the needle plate without deviating from the adjusted position. SOLUTION: This needle plate adjusting mechanism 100 adjusting the position of the needle plate 110 to be mounted on a bed part 10 of the sewing machine is provided with a first adjusting part 120 provided at one end part of the needle plate, a second adjusting part 130 provided at the other end part of the needle plate, and a fixing part 140 provided at an end part other than the two end parts of the needle plate, and the needle plate is positioned and adjusted by the first and second adjusting parts, temporarily fixed thereto, and then fixed by the fixing part.
