The invention relates to a sound-proofing wall for sound insulation of a machinery space comprising a machine for producing, finishing and/or converting a running web of material, especially of a papermaking machinery space. Said sound-proofing wall comprises a planar element having an outer surface from a water- and dirt-repellent material and an inner surface, opposite the outer surface. The planar element has a plurality of passages in the shape of holes or slots. The invention is characterized in that the sound-proofing wall has a cavity filled with a stationary air volume and limited by the inner surface of the planar element. Air fluctuations on the side of the outer surface induce the air volume in the cavity to oscillate out of the cavity and into the cavity through the passages. |
