<p>It is intended to provide an airway management device which enables emergency airway management by forming a gap between the airway inlet and the posterior wall of the pharynx without resorting to inserting a tube into the trachea or closing the trachea with a cuff. An airway management device comprising a tube, which can be inserted from the oral cavity into the pharynx, and a freely inflatable/deflatable cuff provided on the peripheral face of the tube, wherein the tube has an arch form curved from the base as the top to the tip as the bottom, a balloon-shaped cavity having a diameter larger than the first narrowed section of the esophagus that is the boundary between the pharynx and the esophagus is provided at the tip of the tube, and a through hole for ventilation is provided in the peripheral face of the tube. Further, a protrusion is formed close to the cavity by bending the tube into a hook to give a horizontal protrusion.</p> |
