<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate random numbers of good quality with minimized bias in an ink jet recording device when scanning a storage medium by a reflection optical sensor and using a scanned AD value as random numbers. <P>SOLUTION: A light generated from a light emitting diode is radiated to a recording paper surface, and a scanning carriage is operated to scan AD value of the recording paper surface while receiving the reflected light by a photo transistor. A binary Bit string is generated by determining "0" or "1" with the head value of the scanned AD value as A depending on whether the following measuring points are A or more or less than A, and the generated binary bit string is used as the random numbers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
