<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical instrument washing apparatus which improves the propagation efficiency of ultrasonic waves and demonstrates a high washing effect by applying ultrasonic washing to an object to be washed after or while deaerating washing liquid, and a medical instrument washing method. <P>SOLUTION: The medical instrument washing apparatus is equipped with: a washing tub 3 for housing a medical instrument as the object to be washed; a washing liquid supply means for supplying the washing liquid into the washing tub 3; an ultrasonic wave generator 5 for applying ultrasonic vibrations to the washing liquid inside the washing tub 3; and a deaerating tub 23 provided in the middle of a circulation system for circulating the washing liquid inside the washing tub 3 by a circulation liquid discharge pump 29.
