<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file system that prolongs the usable period of a storage medium and shortens time to start to use it. <P>SOLUTION: A file processing part 11 divides in advance the storage area of the storage medium 12 into a data area for storing logs including data of files and a management area capable of storing a plurality of entries of management information on the logs stored in the data area.
