PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle capable of creating a state which closely observes a navigation image when displaying by mixing the meter image and the navigation image in the meter panel. SOLUTION: The navigation image is displayed on a TFT indicator by an ACC ON in the display device for the vehicle. In this case, the navigation display area is enlarged and displayed. In a state where the operation for purpose setting or the operation for enlargement and contraction of a map is performed, it is preferable to further observe the navigation image. However, since the meter image is not displayed at this point, the navigation can be observed and it is effective. When the ignition key is further operated by a driver to become the IGN ON, the display area of the TFT indicator is changed from the state enlarging the navigation display area to the "usual display" state where the meter display area, the navigation display area, and the vehicle state display area are ensured respectively. The display of the meter image (speed meter image or the like) on the meter display area, and the display of the warning light image on the vehicle state display area are started.
