PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device capable of preventing splash and natural drop of a waste liquid remaining in a liquid path when or after the waste-liquid container is removed. SOLUTION: The liquid jet device 10 comprises a liquid jet head 30 for jetting a liquid, a cleaning means for cleaning the liquid jet head 30 by discharging the liquid from the liquid jet head 30 through a liquid path 25, and a detachable liquid storage means 40 disposed at the outlet side of the liquid path 25 for storing the liquid discharged by the cleaning means. The liquid storage means 40 comprises an absorption means 50 for absorbing the liquid and a forced dropping means 44 for forcedly dropping the liquid remaining in the liquid path 25 to a liquid-receiving position of the absorption member 50 when the liquid storage means 40 is removed from the liquid jet device 10.
