PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive method of a solid-state imaging element capable of realizing excellent display quality. SOLUTION: Signal electric charges of a first row are transferred from a vertical transfer channel to a line memory for a first horizontal blank period, part of the signal electric charges is transferred from the line memory to a horizontal transfer channel for a second horizontal blank period next to the first horizontal blank period, the remaining signal electric charges of the first row are transferred from the line memory to the horizontal transfer channel for a third horizontal blank period next to the second horizontal blank period, and thereafter signal electric charges of a second row next to the first row are transferred from the vertical transfer channel to the line memory whose capacity is free.
