PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical head having performance in which a gap between an objective lens and a lens holder can be sufficiently sealed and ingress of uncured sealant to the inside can be prevented, and the access performance to an information recording medium is therefore stable for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The optical head is constituted in such a manner that: a projection 17 with its proximal end connected to a stepped part 16 of the lens holder 7A and the distal end supporting the objective lens is provided; the stepped part 16 of the lens holder 7A is provided with a recessed part 18 at an outer peripheral side of the projection 17; the sealant 21 injected between the lens holder 7A and the objective lens 9A and cured is provided; and a part of injected sealant 21 can be housed in the recessed part 18.
