PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of obtaining a high definition image. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a plurality of row electrodes which face each other via discharge spaces, are provided on the back side of a front substrate, respectively extend in a row direction and are installed adjacent to each other in a column direction, a plurality of column electrodes which are provided on a front side of a back substrate, respectively extend in a column direction and are installed adjacent to each other in a row direction, and driving circuits which drive the column electrodes and the row electrodes to form unit light emission regions in the paired crossing positions of the column electrodes and the adjacent row electrodes. The above plasma display device includes a plurality of lateral barrier ribs which partition the discharge spaces on the row electrodes and respectively form a plurality of the row discharge spaces extending in the row direction, row electrode driving circuits which apply sustain pulses to the pairs of the row electrodes of every row discharge space to generate the discharge by line sequential scanning, and row electrode driving circuits which selectively apply the discharge suppression potentials to suppress the discharge to the row electrodes.
