PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an outer lens barrier mechanism which operates to open/close the outside of a camera housing without projecting from the external shape of an imaging apparatus even in a compact imaging apparatus having small retreat space when a barrier is fully opened. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a lens protection barrier comprising a plurality of barriers on the outside of the housing, and is equipped with the second barrier to operate linearly interlocked with the opening/closing operation of the first barrier.
