PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure reliability by preventing collision of an upper end of a crankshaft and a top surface of a hermetic vessel, and preventing bruise on a thrust ball bearing when vibration and impact is applied during transportation. SOLUTION: A regulating means keeping dimension B of a gap in a vertical direction between a stopping part 166 formed as one unit on a snubber 164, and a leg part 124 formed on an outer circumference part of a cylinder block 110 smaller than dimension A of a gap between a top end surface 139 of the crankshaft 130 and an inner top surface 160 of a hermetic vessel 101 is constructed. Consequently, since collision of a crank shaft 130 and the hermetic vessel 101 can be prevented, a bruise on a thrust ball bearing 150 can be prevented, abnormal noise during operation is eliminated, and wear of the thrust ball bearing 150 can be prevented.
