PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prove a control device for an internal combustion engine, having improved control stability and responsiveness when controlling the driving force of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A driving force control system comprises an internal combustion engine model 1000 represented by a linearized model including a primary delay element, a computing unit 2000 for calculating a deviation between target engine torque and estimated engine torque, a delay compensator 3000 for compensating the deviation for a response delay, and an adder 4000 for adding the delay compensated deviation to the target engine torque to calculate a engine torque controlled variable.
