PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely improve the production efficiency than before, concerning a method and an apparatus for manufacturing an optical lens for obtaining a prescribed-shaped optical lens by pressing a glass raw material with a pair of forming molds. SOLUTION: The glass raw material is molded by carrying a pair of heated forming molds and the glass raw material into a molding apparatus for pressing the glass raw material by relatively moving the pair of forming molds after heating the pair of forming molds and the glass raw material in a heating device, then the pair of forming molds and the glass raw material are carried out from the molding apparatus to be cooled for obtaining the prescribed-shaped optical lens.
