An exercise monitoring system comprises a user interface device for storing exercise programme information, sensing means for measuring displacement of a weight on an exercise device, and a communication network connecting the user interface device to the sensing means. The sensing means is arranged to transmit readings to the user interface device. The system also includes a display device connected to the communication network, the display device for displaying information received from the user interface device. The user interface device can comprise a portable handheld device, and the communication network comprises a wireless link. |
