The protective sheath (1) has two-layer construction made of two textile layers (2,3). A textile layer constructed of a synthetic fiber non-woven material is provided on the object which is to be protected. Another textile layer is arranged on the exterior of the first layer. The later layer is constructed of two-barrier knitted velour having velour loops which are arranged such that they point outward. Both textile layers are glued (4) to one another in places.
