s rac The invention relates to the method of manufacturing alkyl esters of long-chain fatty acids, consisting in transesterification reaction of triglycerides with alcohol, at the presence of a catalyst agent and at the excess of the alcohol to triglycerides, followed by separation of the post-reaction mixture and distillation off of the alcohol excess. Nature of the invention consists in it that the transesterification reaction is carried out at temperature from 288K to 353K, under atmospheric pressure, in a period from 0.3 hours to 5 hours, at molar proportion of triglycerides and alcohol of at least 1 : 10, preferably 1 : 18, at inert atmosphere, whilst separation of the post-reaction mixture, and there are separated azeotropic fractions during distillation. The invention has application especially in production of engine fuels and of the bio- renewable raw materials, for example detergents, for the chemical industry.
