<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and apparatus that can be made fast, high in precision, and low-cost even when an inspection range of a product is wider in a moving direction (in a lateral direction) than a photographic range. <P>SOLUTION: Even when the inspection range of the product is wider in the moving direction (in the lateral direction) than the photographic range, it is decided which of a plurality of section patterns divided exist in the moving direction (in the lateral direction) for each of successive images obtained by imaging the product while one of the product P and a single imaging camera 2 is moved, and when it is decided that all the section patterns are included in the plurality of images, the product is considered to be a non-defective. Consequently, each of the images successive in the lateral direction is decided in the previously registered lateral direction based upon the plurality of divided section patterns even by the apparatus which uses the single imaging camera 2 and has low resolution without using an image processor with high resolution nor a plurality of imaging cameras like before, so high resolution is obtained by effectively using lateral resolution and image processing of the product can be performed during movement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
