PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a photographing magnification without reducing an image quality in electronic zoom photographing. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is provided with: an imaging element 1 for imaging a subject image-formed by a zoom lens (2); a lens drive circuit 3 for driving the zoom lens (2); a zoom manipulating member 5 for setting a photographing magnification; a data processing circuit 8 for performing super-resolution compositing of a plurality of images imaged by the imaging element 1; and a control circuit 13 for performing control so that when the magnification set by the zoom manipulating member 5 is an optical zoom magnification, the zoom lens (2) is driven by the lens drive circuit 3 and adjusted to the set magnification and when the set magnification is an electronic zoom magnification, the super-resolution composited image of the data processing circuit 8 is enlarged in accordance with the set magnification.
