PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of suppressing transmission of a radio wave to the outside while making positioning precision of a CCD higher than before. SOLUTION: The image reader is equipped with a tubular lamp 162a which irradiates a document where an image is recorded with light and a scanner board unit 220 for an optical image obtained by light reflection on a document surface, and has a circuit board where photoelectric converting elements photoelectrically converting information of the optical image and other electronic components are mounted and an unillustrated bracket supporting it in the scanner board unit 220. A bracket made of a metal material is used as the bracket, and an unillustrated copper plate member as a body independent of the metallic bracket is arranged opposite lead terminals of the other electronic components across a gap and grounded.
