PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of surely making ice according to kinds of ice-making fluids by discriminating the kinds of ice-making fluids supplied to an ice tray. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprising a function for detecting infrared ray energy from the ice-making fluid supplied to the ice tray 5 by an infrared ray detecting means 8, and determining the completion of ice-making by detecting that a temperature of the ice-making fluid reaches a prescribed ice-making completion determination temperature on the basis of the result of the detection, further comprises a white LED 9 capable of independently lighting three primary colors, a means 11 for discriminating whether the ice-making fluid is water or fluid except for water on the basis of the magnitude of infrared ray energy from the ice-making fluid when three primary colors constituting the white LED 9 are independently lit, and a means 12 for adjusting the ice-making completion determination temperature on the basis of the result of the discrimination by the discriminating means 11.
