PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera accessory and a camera easily achieving setting and photographing even under dark photographing environment by providing an illumination means for illuminating a photographing setting operation part. SOLUTION: An illumination operating button 17 is provided on a side surface of an external stroboscopic device 16, and illuminating light emitting parts 18 are provided on the side surface and the lower surface thereof. An LED is incorporated in the illuminating light emitting part 18, and the illuminating light emitting part 18 is lit by pressing the illumination operating button 17. Thus, a user need not look for the positions of a photographic lens setting dial 13 and the photography setting operation part 14 when taking a photograph under the dark environment, and he (she) can take the photograph smoothly.
