The outlet (2) from an air filter housing is in the form of a stub pipe (3) attached by means of two integral clip arrangements (7, 8) opposite each other. Both the housing side components and the stub pipe components of the clips can be formed during injection molding of these parts. An integral elastic tab (26) assists in holding the parts in position to avoid relative movement due to vibration. One of the clips can form a hinge during assembly so that when the stub pipe (3) is fitted to the housing it is engaged in the first clip and then tilted to engage the second clip. The inlet (28) to the stub pipe can be shaped to form an inlet guide and flow straighteners can be incorporated within the pipe.
