PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclic olefin-based polymer excellent in optical characteristics, heat resistance, adhesiveness, cohesiveness and hygroscopic resistance. SOLUTION: The cyclic olefin-based polymer contains a repeating unit expressed by general formula (1), wherein R<SP>1</SP>expresses a substituent; L expresses a single bond or a divalent bonding group, wherein an alcohol is formed by bonding L with OH; p expresses 0 or 1 integer; q expresses 0-3 integer; r expresses 1-4 integer; R<SP>1</SP>and L may form a 5-7 membered ring by bonding to each other.
