PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that low pass filtering as a means of extracting an illumination light component requires performance of large scale convolution arithmetic operations (a huge amount of sum-of-product arithmetic operations) resulting in taking much time with respect to compression of a dynamic range for image processing. SOLUTION: A camera (imaging apparatus) stores illumination light component data and reflected light component data and can provide the data in implementing dynamic range compression so that a user can perform the dynamic range compression preferred by the user and reduce the processing time.
