PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device with which a user can freely take a photograph in portrait format or landscape format by easy operation in accordance with the composition of a subject whether the user is a right-handed person or a left-handed person. SOLUTION: The photographing device is provided with: a grip G for holding a camera main body 11; and a first shutter button S1 and a second shutter button S2 on the upper surface and the lower surface of the body on the side of the grip G respectively. An imaging unit freely turns when it is attached to the camera main body. When the user operates the photographing device with his (her) right hand, he (she) sets the photographing device so that the grip G may be at a position on his (her) right side, and extends his (her) hand from the rear and holds the grip G. In such a state, the user takes the photograph by operating the first shutter button S1 by his (her) forefinger while setting the body of the photographing device lengthways or sideways.
