PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress impurity contamination that is the factor of a deterioration in element performance such as a reduction in luminous efficiency and a deterioration in life characteristics in an organic electroluminescence element, using a coating film containing a low-molecular light emitting material as a light emitting layer; and to provide the organic electroluminescence element with good luminous characteristics. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element has a first electrode layer, an anti-mixing layer formed on the first electrode layer, a light emitting layer that is a coating film formed directly on the anti-mixing layer and containing a low-molecular light emitting material, and a second electrode layer formed on the light emitting layer. By providing an organic electroluminescence element that the anti-mixing layer contains such a material as to maintain the film producing properties of the light emitting layer well, and not to deteriorate the optical characteristics of the light emitting layer; the purposes are achieved.
