PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning apparatus capable of correcting a beam shape on the downstream side of a cylindrical lens so that the incident angle in a sub scanning direction of exit-light from the cylindrical lens on a polygon mirror may not vary even when a reflecting member for reflecting light beams toward the polygon mirror is provided as one of optical elements on the downstream side of the cylindrical lens for a primary optical system. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: the reflecting member 113 for reflecting the light beams toward the polygon mirror; the cylindrical lens 112 arranged on the upstream side of the polygon mirror, having lens power in the sub scanning direction; and an adjusting means for adjusting the lens power of the cylindrical lens 112 in the sub scanning direction by rotating the cylindrical lens 112 in a direction of an arrow C with the center of the lens as the rotating axis.
