PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method of an object to be treated which satisfies the high quality treatment, high treatment capacity, workability, economical efficiency and versatility, and to provide a treatment apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In a vertical type cylindrical treatment vessel 21 having an entrance 22 in the upper part and an exit 23 in the lower part, a relatively high positional percussion treatment space part equipped with a rotary percussion member 41 (42-44) for vertical rotary percussion and a relatively low positional impingement treatment space part equipped with an impingement member 71 for rotary movement control are established. The treatment method of the object to be treated comprises vertically rotating the rotary percussion member 41 of the percussion treatment space part, conducting the percussion treatment of the object to be treated in the percussion treatment space part with the rotary percussion member 41 during the period when the object to be treated incorporated into the treatment vessel 21 from the entrance 22 of the vessel falls gravimetrically and reaches the exit 23 of the vessel, and conducting the impingement treatment by making the object to be treated collide against the impingement member 71 in the impingement treatment space part and controlling the rotary movement of the object to be treated.
