PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating unit capable of showing a complicated pattern in the casing of a game machine and responding to the outer wall surface of the case with a complicated shape. SOLUTION: The illuminating unit is constituted of translucent boards 1a, 1b, 1c constituting at least a part of the outer wall surface of the casing 1 of the game machine, an image information generating means 2 for generating image information to be projected to the translucent boards, a screen 3 on which the image based on the image information generated by the image information generating means 2 is shown, optical fiber cables 4a, 4b, 4c, a light collecting devices 5a, 5b, 5c forming at least a part of images of the images generated on a screen 3 on the input end face of the optical fiber cables, and projecting devices 6a, 6b, 6c enlarging and projecting the images appearing on the output end faces of the optical fibers on at least a part of the rear faces of the translucent boards 1a, 1b, 1c of the casing 1.
