PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage the presence or absence of a patient in a room and supply a blood collection tube storage tray of a patient staying in his room which is prepared in a blood collection tube preparation device by the self-propulsion of a robot. SOLUTION: A noncontact medium such as RF-ID is used for a test acceptance slip, and a noncontact medium reader is installed at the entrance gate of a blood taking room to make a check to see if a patient is in or has left the room. When the patient is absent, the self-propelled tray transfer robot receives a tray automatically prepared by the blood taking tube preparation device and stocks it in a prescribed stocking section. When the patient is present in a blood taking room, the robot travels to a blood taking table from which a request is received and supplies a tray. Thus an automatic management of absence and presence of patients in the rooms and the supply of trays help completely wasteless blood taking work to be done. Since only trays for patients waiting in the rooms for their turns can be supplied, confusion of a blood taking tube for one patient with the same for another patient can be completely prevented.
