In a control device (7) for a main-lights circuit (1) of a motor vehicle, relays (RL1, R12) are controlled by an electronic control unit (14) which can be activated by a vehicle-lights selector switch (6) and a dimmer switch (10) for switching between dipped beam and full beam. The control unit is constructed so that the headlights will always be switched to dipped beam when the vehicle main lights are switched on, and also so that the main lights can be switched on, even in the event of a malfunction. |
