AMIDINYLPHENYL COMPOUNDS AND THEIR USE AS FUNGICIDES

Compounds of Formula 1, and their N-oxides and agriculturally suitable salts, are disclosed as useful as fungicides (Formula 1) here wherein R¹ is C₁-C₄ alkyl or C₃-C₄ cycloalkyl; R² is C₁-C₃ alkyl; R³ is Br, Cl or I; R⁴ is Cl; or C₁-C₂ alkyl or C₁-C₂ alkoxy, each optionally substituted with one to three substituents independently selected from halogen; A is C or Si; each R5 is independently C₁-C₂ alkyl optionally substituted with one to three substituents independently selected from halogen; and R^5a is H or C₁-C₂ alkyl; provided that when A is Si, then R^5a is C₁-C₂ alkyl. Also disclosed are compositions comprising the compounds of Formula 1 and methods for controlling plant diseases caused by fungal plant pathogens which involve applying an effective amount of a compound of Formula 1.
