A video switcher enabling the operator to perform setting while confirming the set value without being disturbed by the display during a broadcast program. A knob (21) serving as a setting member is provided on an operation panel (13) and operated to change the set value of a video effect. A display (17) displays the set value in the response to the operation of the setting member. The display (17) is movable in a predetermined standby direction to reduce the exposure range. The position of the display (17) in the standby direction is detected. A control section controls the displaying by the display (17) in accordance with the detected position information and changes the displaying of the set value to display the set value in the left exposure range when the display (17) has moved in the standby direction. The control section changes the displaying position of the set value on the display (17) in the opposite direction to the standby direction when the display (17) moves in the standby direction.
