A financial system and method for providing banking services for providing banking services to a user of a communication device having a telephone number and communicating with the banking provider via a communication line, are described. The financial system comprises a banking provider including a banking database containing a list of records associated with a predetermined number of communication devices. Each record includes at least an account number associated with the telephone number of the communication device and information about a balance of the account. The method includes transferring an instruction from the communication device to the banking provider to manage the account number associated with the telephone number of said communication device, performing the instruction and advising the user of a result of the performance.
