APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ELIMINATING INTERFERENCE SIGNAL IN THE RECIEVER OF BASE STATION

An interference signal eliminating device of a base station receiver and a method thereof are provided to decide on existence of neighboring cell interference through channel estimation only in a target cell, thereby reducing complexity. A midamble signal received from a target cell is regenerated on the basis of channel estimation results in a target cell(S301,S302). Strength of noise in the target cell is estimated on the basis of the regenerated midamble signal(S303). Only when the estimated strength of the noise is in more than particular size, channel estimation for neighboring cells is conducted to eliminate an interference signal of a neighboring cell mobile terminal from the target cell(S304-S306).
