A method for performing an alarm function according to the detection of a hazard signal in a communication terminal, a method for notifying a help signal in a mobile communication system, and a communication terminal and a mobile communication system employing the methods are provided to allow the communication terminal to transmit an aid signal including a present position of the communication terminal, which is received from an LBS, to the mobile communication system, and allow the mobile communication system to transmit a hazard notifying message to at least one number preset by a user of the communication terminal. An electronic nose unit, which includes at least one sensor to detect at least one risk signal, is maintained. The risk signal is detected from the electronic nose unit(202). The electronic nose unit transmits the output control signal corresponding to the detected risk signal to an output control unit of the mobile terminal. The output control unit performs a control operation such that an alarm signal according to the output control signal is output through a predetermined output unit. Present position information of the communication terminal is obtained from a predetermined location based service(LBS) system corresponding to the detected risk signal. An aid signal including the present position information is transmitted to the predetermined mobile communication system. The mobile communication system receives the aid signal and reads out information about at least one number relative to the communication terminal based on a database having information about predetermined numbers. The mobile communication system transmits a risk notifying message, which includes the present position information of the communication terminal according to the aid signal, to at least one number with respect to the information about at least one number.
