A method of providing a graphical user interface, includes:
displaying a graphic representation (15) of a data object (8) at an initial location on a screen (3);
receiving a command selecting the data object from a user through an interface (2); moving the graphical representation (15) of the data object (8) towards a destination location (16;19) on the screen (3) upon receiving an indication of the destination location on the screen (3) from a user through the interface (2); and
causing an at least indirect transition of the object from a first state to a second state at a time when the graphical representation (15) of the data object (8) is positioned substantially at a final destination location (19). Output is provided enabling a user to distinguish the first state from the second state. A first timer (17) is started in response to receiving an indication of a destination location (16) from a user through the interface (2). The transition from the first state to the second state is automatically caused only after the first timer (17) has run over a pre-determined period of time (”T1). |
