PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of an unnecessary black line on a drum by destaticizing an area which has been electrostatically charged by a pre- exposure, and thereafter, cleaning it by a cleaning device. CONSTITUTION:When a point A of an electrostatic charge start point rotates more than once and has passed through a position opposed to an electrostatic charge use corotron 6, an exposure of the surface of a drum 2 is stopped by turning off an LED array 3 (exposure stop point B). By this exposure stop, after the point B, even if said point passes through a position opposed to the LED array 3, it is in an electrostatic charge state. Subsequently, before the point B is opposed to a separation use corotron 9, charge of the surface of the photosensitive drum 2 is eliminated by turning on (C) the separation corotron 9. That is, before the point B reaches a cleaning device 10, the surface of the drum 2 is destaticized (D), therefore, it does not occur that a toner on a cleaning blade 10a is attracted by the drum 2 and adheres thereto. In such a way, it does not occur that an unnecessary black line is formed as a recording image. |
