PRETREATMENT IN PRODUCTION OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To improve dispersibility at the time of obtaining a liquid dispersion and to improve electrophotographic characteristics by maintaining a material or contact mixing state in a reduced pressure and heated state at the time of subjecting a charge generating material and at least a solvent to a contact mixing treatment. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating material M is charged into a pretreatment tank 1 circumferentially having a heater 2 consisting of an electric heater 1 and the pressure in the pretreatment tank 1 is reduced by a rotary type vacuum pump 4 after a valve 3 is opened. The inside of the tank is simultaneously heated by the heater 2 and the temp. control is executed with a temp. controller 6 by receiving the signal from a thermocouple 5. A valve 7 is then opened to charge a binder soln. 8 dissolved in the solvent into the pretreatment tank 1. A motor 9 is started and the liquid is stirred by stirring vanes 10 before or after the charging to execute the contact mixing of the charge generating material M and the binder soln. 8 for the prescribed time. The contact mixability of the charge generating material and the solvent is thereby improved and the dispersing speed and dispersion stability are enhanced. The electrophotographic characteristics are thus improved.
