A fall arrest assembly 12 comprises a catching assembly positioned around the edge of a platform 10. An apparatus 16 for securing the catching assembly to the platform 10 comprises a body adapted to engage the platform 10 and a mounting arrangement 32 for supporting the catching assembly. The apparatus 16 further comprises a clamping mechanism 44 adapted to releasably secure the body against the platform 10.
