The device has a sensor arranged in a tool and/or an aggregate. A transmitter is connected with the sensor, and a receiver is attached at a machining center. The receiver communicates with the transmitter, and the sensor measures a condition and/or functional data of the aggregate. The transmitter transmits the data to the receiver in a wireless manner such that the machining center is controlled corresponding to the received data.
