<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a golf ball made of a golf ball material including a highly neutralized ionomer resin excellent in thermal stability, fluidity and moldability, of which material the golf ball excellent in resilience can be made. <P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the golf ball material comprises the steps of blending (a) 100 parts by weight of an olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid random copolymer or olefin-unsaturated carboxylic acid-unsaturated carboxylate random copolymer, (b) 50 to 80 parts by weight of a fatty acid having a molecular weight of at least 280 or its derivative and (c) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a specific alkali inorganic metal compound capable of neutralizing acid radicals contained in the components (a) and (b) and neutralizing the components (a) and (b) with the component (c) to obtain a heated mixture having a melt index of at least 10 dg/min. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
