A method is described for the production of flexible closing members, in particular artificial heart valves, and a flexible closing member, in particular an artificial heart valve, which can be produced by such a method is also described. In the production method, the housing of the closing member is radially widened, the closing element of the closing member is shaped as an essentially flat sheet-like element, and the flat sheet-like element is connected to the housing in the widened state of the latter. This method is preferably implemented as a dipping method in which the closing element is moulded and moulded onto the housing in a single working step.
