An apparatus and a method for photographing a panorama in a portable terminal are provided to reduce errors occurrence due to the overlap area when images are synthesized, and supply a natural image to a user by enhancing the quality of the synthesized image. A camera module(102) photographs an image. A memory module stores the photographed image. A display module(106) outputs the overlap area of images when a panorama is photographed. A guide module(108) outputs the overlap area of an image previously stored in the memory module when the panorama is photographed. A synthesis module(110) searches the overlap area of the present image for a section identical to a predetermined section of the previous image, and creates a synthesis image by synthesizing the previous image and the present image such that the section of the previous image overlaps with the section of the present image. |
