发明名称 IP-BASED LANGUAGE E-LEARNING SYSTEM THAT CATERS TO BOTH WRITTEN AND VERBAL LEARNING (OL2 ENGINE)
摘要 The Invention comprises a language e-learning software platform residing on a first plurality of remote computers and network devices that enables the learning of languages through a combination of written and verbal assignments, which can be retrieved, worked upon and assessed electronically and remotely. Student users will be able to use a second plurality of remote client computers and devices to access their language learning assignments on the first plurality, record their verbal readings and store on the second plurality; upload the recordings to the first plurality, archive and retrieve previous recordings in the first plurality; access, listen and grade other students recordings from the first plurality. Tutor users will be able to use a third plurality of remote client computers and devices to upload language learning course contents and assignments to the first plurality, grade assignments as well as set parameters for grading. System administrator users will be able to use a fourth plurality of remote client computers and devices to perform system administration tasks on the first plurality, such as setting up of languages classes, assigning and managing user identifications and passwords and collecting of payments. The scalability of this system is improved through the use of peer-to-peer technologies, whereby the second to fourth pluralities of computers and devices, after being authenticated by the first plurality, will be able to communicate directly with each other without having to route through the first plurality. Furthermore, the second to fourth pluralities can also authenticate and communicate among themselves using peer- to-peer technologies without the intervention of the first plurality. Thus, the system can handle a greater number of concurrent users. The Invention improves the effectiveness and interactivity of language learning, largely through enabling language students to vastly increase their practice of oral language skills and receiving quality feedback on their practices.
