METHOD FOR CORRECTING POSITION IN PORTABLE INTERNET SYSTEM AND MOBILE TERMINAL COMMUNICATION

A portable Internet system and a method for conducting position correction in a mobile communication terminal are provided to previously store an error correction value indicative of a degree of error correction by receiving signal strength, and to measure a position of the terminal by using the stored value, thereby increasing accuracy in position measurement. A terminal decides whether a position determination request exists(300). If so, the terminal scans peripheral base stations to collect information necessary for position measurement(310). The terminal measures strength of signals received from the respective base stations(320), and perceives a step corresponding to the measured strength of the signals(330). The terminal reads an error correction value corresponding to the perceived step(340), and measures a position by correcting the position as the error correction value(350).
